That coffee cup. I left it there when I got distracted by the other task. I forgot the warm brew waiting there, solidly on the counter where I left it in a nice round ceramic mug. But by my return it was cold, tasteless. No longer worth a sip.
A coffee cup is inconsequential when it comes to distractions. A new brew or a new day can refill it easily. But may my goals not suffer the same fate--forgotten for other trivial if delightful distractions and tasks that shove their way into my focus. A goal turned cold is not appealing. It doesn't do refills like a cup of joe does.
So as I pour this cup, I might need some help holding on to it.
(Superglue, anyone?)
